Check out water levels at the Mill, using our computerized gauge. You can check the river conditions before you visit us. Call 01978 710398. You will hear fax tones followed by "station 133 normal 1" and then the water level numbers. These figures are approximate but good enough for kayaking and Rafting.
16 and over - don't even think about it So what does the gauge mean? Up to level 6 is quite normal for most of the year and is considered easy to manage. Level 6 and over, we use extra Kayakers alongside Rafts for safety cover. Level 10 and over, we use bigger rafts and specially trained guides who ensure your safety on higher water conditions. If at any time we consider the river to be unsafe due to high water and/or debris washing down the river we cancel our rafting and will advise Kayakers of the dangers. At the highest levels the water access is closed for your own safety.
